The problem with going away is that I keep thinking of more places I want to visit. For instance Qantas was VERY crafty suggesting a day trip to Paris on the EuroStar… This is great, except for one thing. Some activities cannot be done in one day in Paris. I would love to see the Moulin Rouge, and the performances for this are later in the evening than would be allowable by doing a day trip… So that means an overnight in Paris. Hmm… It would be fun though I think. I was able to survive in Italy without knowing the language although that was mostly in well contained areas, and not for a long time period.

Mind you, when I found that the hotel restraunt was not open on my first evening on the eastern outskirts of Rome I did not dare venture outside… This was 10km from the centre of the city, and I did not have any local currency. And it would have needed a Taxi to get to a Restraunt… Still, I did not have to pay for it which was good. More on this can be found in the September 2004 Blog entries…

Newswire has a press release on how scientists in the USA have decoded the infromation being transmitted on the European Galileo GPS type satellite system… This links to a Cornnel uni Web site which links to a GPS Course that looks interesting…
