It is defintely Rabbit Season here right now. I am working hard on a new product, and it is coming together nicely. My time estimates on the work required seem to be about right, which I am thankful for. As normal the first 90% of the work takes 90% of the time, and the last 10% takes the other 90% of the time 🙂 This entry is being written on my older laptop with my feet up. I dont have a wireless card in this PC so I am definitely tethered – with Ethernet, Power and a Rabbit Leash (Programming Cable for the Rabbit).

I have been using the MindManager software I mentioned yesterday to manage my to-do list on this job as well as documenting the specifications of the unit. I am finding that the software is so useful in managing my mind.

[Hold on one moment – there is an email on the other PC that I need to look at…]
[I just had an email from a programmer from West Bengall, India, with some questions. He wanted a reply quickly so he could finish the job off and get paid. He has completed one parcel of the work already and is finishing the rest now. It cost me something like US$90 for the work, and there was probably a days work in there at least for me. So it has worked out much better for me to outsource].

Common Problems

As a GPS consultant there is one problem that clients always have. They are attempting to save money by not getting an expert (like me) in to do the hard work for them, and wonder why things do not work. For instance they see a number like 4124.5963, and they know it means 41 Degrees. But then they think that the format means 41.245963 degrees, and wonder why things do not work. Or they think that it is 41 degrees 24 minutes and 59.63 seconds.

I have seen both so many times. But with GPS, this means 41 degrees and 24.5963 minutes. ‘4124.5963’ = 41 + (24.5963/60) = 41.4099383, Which is a bit different from the 41.245963 they commonly get.

Anyway, enough from me… Time for lunch
