I have just done another run. I ended up doing about 3.85km in 25 minutes, equating to about 9.25 KM/h. I have a plot of the run in the picture below. This is straight from the GPS and imported into the OziExplorer program. I grabbed a screen dump in order to show the path here. What I find is that I need to take more care not to run too fast. I tend to speed up and this causes me to not be able to run as fast as I would like.
Depending on how I feel for my next run I might do a second loop of the oval whilst running to the top of the map and then do another loop on the way back. Each loop of the oval is about 470m if I stick to the fence line. So on this course I can increse the distance to about 4.5Km without doing too many double loops.
My GPS receiver is having some issues. the joystick button is sticking and the screen is having some vertical lines coming up on it when you start up. Really strange. It is a good GPS and I dont want to have to replace it. I really need to load some Australian Maps onto my GPS. Right now the only ones I have are for Rome, from when I was there in September.
WiFi Hacking
There is an article on Tom’s Networking showing how easy it is for the FBI to get into encrypted WiFi networks. Basically this is why I don’t bother using WEP on my access point here – I just assume that someone is listening, and therefore have it firewalled appropriately, and also encrypt traffic seperately if needed.
Music:
Abba – Dancing Queen. Cool song.
