My test of the tracker went well. There are some settings that probably need to be changed but that is minor. Basically it worked exactly as I expected. Actually, just thinking about the results I got I started thinking about a few things. I found a bug in my code. Things would work well driving south, but would not work so well driving north. I kid you not.

The problem has to do with compass directions. There are 360 degrees in a circle, and North is 0 degrees. If you want to find the minimum angle between two compass headings you need to subtract the two and ignore any minus sign. However since things wrap around at north things do not work so well if one of the headings is North East, and the other is North West. The result should have been 90 degrees, but my code was saying 270 degrees. Anyway it is fixed now.

I have been reading more of ‘The House That Jack Built’, and this is turning into a rather interesting novel. It is sort of like Bridget Jones Diary, but different. It is that type of style. I am really enjoying reading it, and finding it hard to put down.

Jail for paying with a $2 note in the USA

According to several news reports, a man in Baltimore, USA was arrested when he tried to pay a bill for $114 with perfectly valid $2 bills. For some reason $2 bills are not used very often in the USA, and the man was protesting the payment of a charge which he was told would be free. The store thought that the notes were counterfeit, and therefore contacted police who arrested him and kept him in custody until the Secret Service came to verify that the notes were good.
