I am not building today… So I am here doing some work, but I will have some time off a bit later. There are just some things that i have been wanting to get done… So I can cross some things off my to do list. I might go over to work on the plane tomorrow afternoon, and see how the fuel tanks have gone.

The first task today was connecting some tracking units up to some radios for a client. The tracking units are radio based ones, and operate with a small radio modem. When it needs to send a GPS position it presses the transmit switch on the radio and sends the position as tones. This all takes about a second. The only problem is that when I plug the radio in with the modem then the transmit switch stops working. I suspect this is programming in the radio, but I am not sure.

I have also been doing more Rabbit work. I am fairly happy with the way that this is all going – I will have to actually take it for a test drive soon. I might do that after i finish this blog entry. This will require some mucking round, mostly with power connectors. I would plug it into the cigarette lighter socket but right now I am out of stocks of the plugs. So I will make up a wiring harness and attach it to another power socket in the car.

The Joni Mitchel song ‘From Both Sides’ came on a bit earlier. No matter how often I hear this song I find more meaning in it. It is on the ‘Love Actually’ soundtrack – a movie I will have to get one of these days.
