I have had a really busy morning today… I had a phone call at 8:10am from a client and and that lasted for almost an hour. The good thing is that I got a siginificant amount of work out of it. Well, technically it was the work I was doing yesterday, but what I was showing him really blew his socks off. He loved it totally! But he does want much of the work done this week if possible. Which means some work filled days. I will try to keep this Blog updated as it is a great way to document what I am working on.
I really wish I could count… In year six I basically failed a mental arithmatic test. Of four classes they put me into the 2nd bottom one. Come to the first exam Not only did I beat everyone in the 2nd top class, but most of the people in the top class. They could not move me up to the highest class since that would have pointed out to the teachers that they had made a mistake by basing their placements on mental arithmatic.
Why I am causing myself heartache by telling you all this? And really embarrasing myself in the process? Well, during the programming I have been doing, I have been searching for a BUG. I could not work it out… I was trying to sort a column of numbers and it would not sort… Well, I found the reason… I had created a list of numbers like
1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
And thought that this list contained 10 numbers. It *SHOULD* except I could not count and left the number ‘3’ out of the list. And to remove any confusion, I LEFT THE NUMBER THREE OUT!!! Oops.
Neither can I spell… I just had a BUG when I tried to type .visible as .visibe. Obviously that one did not work all that well. Maybe I should go back to school.
Programming
I am not sure exactly how I did it, but I needed to return all the field names and all the values in a structure, and display them. This is hard, but I found a link to an message board here that describes how to do it. Or some of the details on how to do it at least. Unfortunately the description on how this is done is poor and I do not understand much of it. Still, it works which is what I needed. Maybe I should comment the code ‘Deep Magic Goes In Here’.
