Midas in the USA ran a competition for the longest commute to work. The contest was won by a Cisco Employee who drives just under 300km each way between home and work. Yes – 300KM EACH WAY!!! The poor worker lives on the edge of Yosemate National Park. It takes about three hours each way, and he drives to and from work EVERY DAY. 2nd and 3rd places were about 15 and 30km shorter near Chicago and North Carolina.

I just find that these distances for a daily commute are far too far. I have a friend who drives about two hours each way each day… I just could not cope with that… Thankfully my daily commute is about 16 steps to get into my office down stairs. Much more civilised!
