I woke this morning to the sound of rain on the gutters and the roof. What could be more relaxing or more serene than that? If only I had an iron roof it would sound even better. My real regret for this morning is that the rain has stopped. When I was working in the city I would love it when the rain would hit the windows on a cold Autumn or Winters day… It made you feel happy to be at work.

Being away from the coast a bit here I don’t seem to get that sort of effect as much. Not being 21 floors above street level does not help either I suspect.

After yesterdays run I dont think I will have another run today. My body probably needs some time off to rest, and recover. Not surprising given what I have been putting it through in the last few days and weeks. But it is worth it I would guess. I love the sence of achievement that reaching the 4km goal has given me. My next goal is 30 minutes of exercise, and then 5km. I know that both are fairly achievable.

GPS

One of my friends has sent me some software that simulates a GPS receiver. Normally I would need to do a test drive to test software. This can get a real pain, and you never get to drive how you want. I was sceptical at first but then realised how useful it is. Right now my tracking unit thinks it is driving about 120km/h cross country in central queensland. I think I will move it to the Queensland coast soon, so I can fantasize about lying on a beach reading a book, and throwing the cellphone into the surf.

Music:

The first track on Random Play today was K D Lang with Hallelujah. Really suited the weather.
