This morning I worked on a tracker based on the Unwired modem to track a laptop. The software actually works really works well, at least when connected to my LAN. It does require a GPS plugged into you laptop somehow, meaning that you must ensure that the theif about to steal the car leaves the laptop plugged in and turned on… If you can find a cooperative theif like that then things are good. But in this case the purpose is more to test the proof of concept which is why a laptop with a GPS plugged in is acceptable.

Skype is such a cool program. I have just spent an hour on it with a colleague talking about work stuff, wearing a headset and training him on the use of software. Around the corner or around the globe it does not matter. Skype just works. It will not work with CDMA 1x though thanks to latency and bandwidth issues.

I have not got all the work done today that I had hoped to get done. But that never seems to happen. To do lists in my view at least are just optimistic lists of what I would like to get done if every thing goes right…

More Salem

Here is another photo of Salem. It is in the ‘shopping’ district, and the shop on the right hand side is a US ‘Drug Store’…
