I did get a lot done today. One of my clients told me to bill him for some work which is great. It will be up to 30 days before they pay, but that is fine. I also got go-ahead on another project, which was important since I had already started this work. And because I had outsourced some of it, I had real expenses for the work. So I am glad I have that bit of work.
I just heard from my brother. My grandmother is now in a nursing home in Brighton Le Sands. This is both good and bad. Her memory is worse than when she went into hospital which is not good, and they have moved most of the things out of her unit. I think she was only in there 12 months or so.
Not that I am counting but it is now about three months since my relationship with my ex-fiance ended. It has been tough at times, mostly at the beginning… but I feel I am now over things, and I am getting on with my life. I enjoyed being in a relationship, and I pray that I can find the right person… Until then I am just getting on with everything and enjoying life again.
Technology Upgrades
There is an article on Boston.Com about how one of the subway lines in New York has been upgraded to computer control at a cost of $250m. This is a lot of money, but they hope to be able to increase the frequency of trains through the upgrades.
There is also a story on the MIT Web Site about how some engineering students built their own computer controlled disco flooring. The floor was not cheap, but looks rather cool.
