I hate Microsoft at times. Right now I have been battling IIS Web Server for about 45 minutes and I am getting nowhere. I hate that. The performance thankfully on Remote Desktop is good which means that I can work fairly well. There is only a fraction of a second delay in things happening. Actually it is as good as I often get to Albury.
I am just getting nowhere. According to IIS, the Web Server is running. Just when I try to connect to it I can’t. It says that the page is not available. Log files are not like they are under Apache as far as I can tell. Well they might be, but I can only find log files from a month back so they are not the right ones. [I just had a thought… I wonder if the date is wrong. No such luck. It says that it is currently 5:30PM on Thursday 14th. So that is correct]
I have no idea where to start looking. I just tried phoning the client but he is home right now and I dont have his home number. He left early. I guess so would I if it was dark and approaching freezing. I have just looked at the Event Viewer. It says nothing. It is as if IIS is not even getting the request for the page to load. I HATE THIS. I guess it is time to look at buying the 100,000 hectares of arid land in the middle of Australia for $1, and take up subsistance farming…
Time to get back to searching for what is wrong… 🙁

This is a server I built as a firewall a few years back. It is 1.75 inches high, and contains an external power supply… It never really went into production as it was far too slow…
