Engadget has an interesting Story about a hot water dispenser for tea. It is designed to be sold to elderly people who live alone in Japan. The idea is that it monitors usage and warns people if the usage changes. For instance if someone normally has a cup of tea first thing in the morning, and there is no use of the jug first thing, then an alarm is sent.
The MP3ELF.net has a kit for a network MP3 player kit. Looks like a cute thing to build for about A$200+.
I would not mind building one of these. Actually I would like to build one from scratch but I really do not have time right at this moment with other projects – work related projects that is.
One of these projects is some new embedded software for one of my old projects. This is the AntiTracker, and I will need to add some new software to return the data in a new format. This is one of two options for this client, and I think this is the one he will go for. And I will have to get some more of these circuit boards made up.
