OK… I am now at T2 at Sydney Airport waiting for my flight. The flight boards in about 50 minutes so I have some time up my sleeve. I have decided NOT to pay for broadband at the airport here… Nor to get a GPRS card at Vodafone. I have a good friend who is a Vodafone dealer so I will get the SIM through him when I get around to getting the Wireless access. [I am actually in Albury, but this is written in Sydney]

The drive into the airport was easy. The only time I needed to stop was just near the international terminal. Correction… There is also a set of lights just near home too, and they were red. It must have taken about 35 minutes or so to get in. Not bad, but it was 5:30AM. Strangely, 5:30PM is about the same… All the traffic seems to go the other way at that time of day.

Checkin was quick. It always is with REX. Security was also quick. Pity that security in the USA is not this painless. I have worked out the easy way to get through security… Take anything off that is likely to cause problems including my watch. But leave on my glasses. It really is painless. The one thing that I have worked out that I should always keep hold of is my boarding pass. Some security people get unhappy if you put them through the X-Ray machine.

I had a phone call just as I was preparing to get some breakfast from Canada on my cellphone. I got my client to give me a ring since I knew I would be out of action at decent times today. He has been really busy too… Just after 5AM this morning I sent him an email with some files to download. He did this, and I got him to run the program. He was really impressed. I think we will get a large number of sales out of that one.

I copied some MP3’s to my PC… Bette Midler and Belinda Carlisle. I am listening to the Beaches Soundtrack right now. The song ‘I think it’s going to rain today’ is playing. The lyrics and the music are wonderful. I THINK the lyrics are ‘Right before me, the signs of glory; Help the needy and show them the way; Human kindness is overflowing, and I think it’s going to rain today’. How wonderful. Now playing is ‘Otto Titsling’ which is a comedy song. It must be heard to be believed. I can just imaging Midler singing this in concert.
