Airport Security

If there was any further proof needed about the need to change airport security in the USA, I would advise looking at TheDenverChannel.COM. You must see this to believe it. “Two traveling penguins from Seaworld in San Diego went through regular airport screening at Denver International Airport recently. Here, Pat and Penny are removed from their carry-on case so they can walk through the metal detector. (Pat is the good looking one)

There is an interesting story on the BBC about the mobile phone business in Ghana in Africa. Strangely, mobiles are really taking off in this poor country, since the infrastructure costs are so much cheaper than for landlines. And the fact that business people are offering the mobile equivalent of a payphone on streets for people who do not have a mobile – which is much of the country. This is a country where ther number of phone lines has not increased much over the last 40 or so years – but there are now double the number of mobiles than landlines in only the last few years.

Photo of the Day

This is a photo of Universal Studios in the foreground from the top of the hill. The white buildings in the foreground is the Universal Backlot. The white campus in the centre distance is the Warner Bros Studios. It is in the 2nd photo. Dolby Labs at least used to be based just in front of the big office building on the left hand side, along with ‘Robet Abel and Associates’ where much of the work on the movie Tron was done.

You can see the Warner Brothers Water Tower in this photo on the left of the picture.
