Last night when I was driving to and from the presentation I was listening to an Audiobook on my iPod – Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I have a feeling that this is an abridged version – reguardless I am liking it, but I am having a bit of trouble remembering who is saying what when. At one stage Lockwood’s Housekeeper is telling him a story and I had to be careful who was being referred to when phrases came up like ‘I did …’.
I have never read the book, and it was a great way to learn about life around 1800 when the book was set. I had never really thought about things such as how people would get around. Like walking 60 miles to get to liverpool for a trip. In winter. That was not really something that I have much comprehension of really.
When I finish the book I will probably listen to it at least once more… Probably more than once more to get any degree of beauty of the story. I never studied it at school, and my sole knowledge of the book is the Kate Bush song of the same name.
Amongst programming I have been also adding some advertising to some of the web pages on my WWW site. There will probably be some on the Blog, but mostly on the 802.11 WiFi pages, and GPS. I will generally have the advertising stay away from my core business of tracking… But we will have to see. So far I have made US0.06 from the advertising – and $0.05 of that was following an ad myself that looked interesting.
Anyway I have some programming to do – fairly urgently. More later.
