I have been searching my email – I have a feeling that some of my software is being used by the National Hurricane Centre in the USA, but I cannot find any reference to this in my email. It might have been the National Weather Centre… I basically cannot remember. I think it would have been my OziAPRS or NetAPRS software that they were using.

In New Orleans there is a radio based GPS repeater still running according to the reports I am reading. A number of the rescue vehicles are also running APRS based radio trackers. So infrastructure is still surviving. Should the repeater fail, there is a pass of the International Space Station every 90 minutes that can be used. Not quite as useful, but it is still good to have infrastructure like that.

I am not sure what I will be doing today… I have a few things to organise… Hey, I have a trip to book… I need to get that this morning.

I have found information about how to use Google GMAIL as an outgoing mail server. This is really important when you are out on the road and you do not know about the correct SMTP server to use.
