I do not normally post this late at night, but I have just got home and I thought I would post here as I wind down from what has been a long day. Where to start? First this morning we were working on the system to rotate the plane at will. Think of this as a way to do aerobatics on the ground without the engine attached. Well, maybe not. It is actually a way that we can move the plane around to move it more easilly so that we (I) do not need to crawl under the plane as often into cramped conditions. We (I) will still need to do that, but less often.
First job was to extend the engine stands we had purchased. They were great but were about 15-20cm too short. So we cut the stand in half, and put a block of wood in to extend it. Well, we would have if the block of wood was not too big. About 5 minutes on each block of wood with the scanner led to lots of dust, and engine mounts which fitted the wood. Then it was more work to attach the 2nd engine mount to the tail. This must have taken a good couple of hours, and I am not sure it is finished yet. But things are now good enough for one person to rotate the fuselage by themselves.
Following lunch we started installing the control column joystick. This ended up being much harder than expected since the washers needing to be installed are a complete pain to attach. So after a few interruptions that was it for the day. Lots got done, but very little appeared to get done if that makes any sense at all. Tomorrow (today, sunday) is a day off… Although I have some work that I need to get done… Anyway I think that is enough for me…
