I like driving… It forces me to think, just like running, although I can drive for longer than I can run. I have been known to drive for five or six hours continuosly with only a small break, whereas I can only run for close to an hour. But driving allows me to think about projects. There is one where the client wants a solution within a months or so, and I need to write up a proposal ASAP for this client. I have asked a friend for a quote for part of this job, and thought on the way home how to extend this a bit – making the entire solution more flexable at a minor increase in cost. I think the client will go for it… He will love it I am sure.
This sort of thinking is something that I really do not get done when I am not driving since I just do not sit down and think. When I used to work in the city I used to get a chance to spend a lot of time just thinking on the way to and from work on the train – and it is one of the reasons why I like running too. I certainly do not always think about work when driving, but regardless of what I am thinking about it is almost certainly worthwhile.
I will get more of a chance to think tomorrow when I go over to North Rocks Computer Market. I need some parts for one of my clients, and I will save some money by picking things up there. So it will be a quick trip to North ROcks a bit before noon tomorrow.
Finally, I have been meaning to post a link to this for the last couple of days. According to News.Com.Au, a swedish Uni has finally developed a female crash test dummy since women have a higher risk of whiplash than men.
