Things have been busy this morning… I have been working on a few projects… And this has involved running around town a bit. When I went to get the mail today things were not quite as easy as normal… There was a parcel in the post box. The only problem was that the hinges of the door to the box meant that the parcel was too big to extract so the post office staff needed to collect it from the box for me. A card would have been so much easier.
Then I needed to get some parts… A Fibre Optic test kit, and a conductive pen. The pen was tested first, and whilst it is marketed as being conductive I cannot actually get it to work… I guess it will just place it on the clients bill as an expense… Pitty since I was hoping for some good things from it. Since it does not work I might need to go to a hobby shop to find a replacement…
The FibreOptic experimenters kit was for the same job, to work out if I could detect bending in the cable. The answer was that I sort of could… But the plastic fibre-optic was not really the right type for what I wanted to do… I guess I need to look around for a replacement…
On the GPS Front, villagers in the UK are complaining that satellite navigation systems are suggesting that people sometimes go through the centre of their village on the way to the local airport as a way to get around congestion on the main road.
