Things have been relatively quiet today… Not sure that I have got much done… Well, actually thinking about things I have got some things done. Firstly, I got to a project I am doing for a client in the USA, and finally got a solution for him. For weeks I have not been able to show much for my experimentation. Now I have FINALLY got something. My multimeter mostly does the right things during testing. Not always but mostly. There are some manufacturing issues to resolve, and some other hardware issues, but things are on the up with that project.

Then I have been playing with a modem. Without going into specifics it is for a special project. When I went to use one of the features in their firmware it did not work. Ringing technical support revealed that the reason I did not get it to work is that the firmware is the wrong version for what I wanted – and that they do not normally load in the correct firmware. Not sure why… It should not make any difference to anyone if the firmware has these extra features. Might be a licensing issue. Anyway the modem now needs to go back for a firmware upgrade.
