Last night whilst watching Top Gear I think I almost died laughing – Jeremy, the main presenter of the show decided that he did not like the interior of the Mercedes S-Class. This is the car that has introduced the world to ABS brakes, Air Bags and all manner of other developments. So he visited an industrial designer. That was fine. But the designer and he had different ideas of what the car should be like. He wanted it more like his house. And that is what he got.

This included the slate floor on a base of cement, with polished wood under the drivers seat. A plush chair in the back for a passenger, a wood fire, ornaments, and to top this off, the drivers seat was a wooden kitchen chair. With no mounts to stop it moving on the POLISHED floor! The other two presenters took the car around the test track, and found it took 34 seconds to get to 60 miles/hour. And also on the test track, they were finding that the drivers seat would move so much that when you accelerated (albeit slowly with the weight of the car) the drivers seat moved further back in the car. Corners were even worse..

It was SO FUNNY. Totally hilarious – I am not normally into car shows… But this one is totally different. How anyone would come up with doing that to a car is, well, just mind blowing.

There is finally an Obituary online for Bill Kovacs who died during the week. Pity that so few people knew of (and knew) this person.

And for once, Microsoft is trying to do something for consumers, and is wanting to put a save to PDF feature into Word 2007. Lets face it, they need to put something in to make me upgrade. Anyway, Adobe has threatened to sue them if they do this.
