Google has a very different version of the 1980’s hit “Total eclipse of the heart”. This time it is being sung as a durge with two of the performers doing percussion with kitchen whitegoods. This video really is a classic, although the performer on the right side for the extent of the performance needs some assistance with dressing himself.
Also, the BBC is reporting that the Channel Tunnel operators in Europe have been given six months respite from creditors. This is happening in the bankruptcy court. This is happening becauase the project cost more than anticipated and also the patronage is less than anticipated. When the new line into london opens soon it is hoped that numbers will go up with commuters visiting London but living in France.
Earlier today I mentioned the Sabre system… I looked this up in Wikipedia. Originally I referred to this as SABER, which technically was correct but they changed their name a few years back. The company that owns Sabre also owns the travel site Travelocity. Interesting. Whilst looking at that I found that the system runs on an IBM system called TPL. This is an amazing clustering technology – IBM have clients with over a decade of uptime, even with software and system upgrades. That is what I call stable!
