I slept well last night, except for one thing. About 4:30am for some reason I was awake, and after a couple of minutes there was a huge bang. And then nothing else happened. No car alarms went off. No sirens. No voices. Just the big bang. Strange. Maybe this morning I will find out what happened.

In the UK there is news that insurers are not covering valables placed into luggage. The old ‘All car, no responsibility’ line. If the ban is still on when I go though the UK next month I might get a solid case for my laptop so at least it will not get smashed in my bag.

Also on the Times Online in the UK is a story about how the son of an Auschwitz victim found a case belonging to him in a paris museum. The case was marked as being on loan from the Auschwitz Museum. Wanting the case to stay in france he requested that the ownership of the case be transferred to the museum in Paris. They refused. So he started legal action against the museum. The museum and the polish government are fighting this on the basis that it would create a precident. Sounds like a good precident – returning property to the rightful owners.
