My brother was telling me about some of the fun he has had with his car. He has a 1988 Corolla Seca. It used to be mine, but I bought a new car and sold it to him for a song a three years ago. Anyway he has had some problems with it running out of water in the radiator. Not good. Turns out there was a hole in one of the hoses. But that is not the reason for this comment.

For a while the CD player/Radio would not work unless the headlights were on. Yeah. The electrician he took it to in order to get it fixed had a good laugh at that too and did not believe him; and was somewhat amazed at it when he saw it. Turned out there was a blown fuse somewhere. Goodness only knows why turning on the lights fixed the problem. The electrician charged $50 for fixing that problem, finding a problem with the radiator hose (which he was not even looking for), fixing a problem with the headlights and cleaning the inside of all the windows (And no, I do not know why he needed to do that). $50 is a bargain I think.

Now I need to find time at some stage to find out if the antenna is plugged in to the radio. It was the last time I looked at it… The CD player was purchased during the Olympics and the old car radio was used on the roof of Auburn hospital to provide entertainment to the people using the microwave dishes up there. You can just see the radio on top of the green Esky in this photo… The speaker is on the scaffolding to the upper left of the Esky held on with it’s magnet.

So, what were the people doing on the roof. Well, each person had a dish like those in this next photo to point at a helicopter. But only when the chopper was up there.
