I have actually got some work done this morning – the WWW site is improved and I have been also working on some other programming. Also organising some stuff that urgently needed to be sorted.

On the WWW site I changed the location that some of the scripts pointed to. What was happening was that there were a few broken links, and there were also some graphics pointing to my IP address rather than to the machine name which I wanted to fix. The Blog was pointing to a bad background image, and although it was not affecting anything that is now fixed.

Basically what I needed to do was to re-compile every Blog page, and every main WWW page. That was not as horrible as it sounds. I use WML, the Web Meta Language for all the pages so it was one command to compile the main WWW pages, and another to upload them to the WWW site. Then I just edited the Blog Template and said upload. And it was very quick.

‘I Cringely’ on PBS has an interesting thing on how Skype might have been almost been sold for $3 billion last week. And how it will probably be sold soon to a cellphone company. $3b makes the value of the company about $150 per user…
