According to the Australian Broadband site Whirlpool, Telstra and Unwired have just reduced their prices for broadband. The Telstra prices are starting to get reasonable. If the Unwired ones covered anything other than Sydney, then I would get Unwired for when I am away from home for whatever reason.
Then again GPRS works so much better than Unwired around Sydney’s urban canyon thanks to the multi-path. What happens is that the frequency used by Unwired is so high is that it gets reflected by almost any object known to man. This means that when you are in a city building, particularly when lower down then often unwired will not work well at all.
I have been thinking about the USA trip for next month… And what I do when I get to LA. What I am thinking is that I fly over to the USA, leaving here on a Monday. Then I arrive in LA on the monday. Then get a transfer to a hotel near Disneyland and have a sleep after checking into the hotel. Afate a sleep, visit Disneyland for a few hours, and then head back to the hotel for dinner… The next couple of days at DisneyLand and Californian Adventure. Then taxi to the conference a few miles away… firstly for the board meeting and then the conference… And then fly home…
I still need to work out details… And see which of my friends are available at some stage to meet up… But it is looking hopeful and fun.
