I have just finished watching Ladder 49, and Eulogy. Ladder 49 was not what I expected… The flashbacks were disconcerting, and took some time to work out. In fact they made the whole movie seem like a collection of scenes rather than a movie. In a movie things are connected, whereas in the movie the scenes did not seem to really be connected.

Sure the acting was good, and so were the special effects, but there was some magic missing. I do not know what it was, but I suspect it was story. The story was weak. It was there but it really needed more work.

Eulogy was only story… Rather cheap to make except for the actors… In this case Hank Azaria was the most sane apart from his daughter in the film. This is a real indictment of the characters in the film, but made the movie really funny at times. Not all the time, but it showed how the family grew over the weekend after being shown how strange they all were. It would not go and buy a copy on DVD but it was a good movie… I think it was better than Ladder 49…

Anyway I had better go… I have a couple of things to do before bed…
