I have emailed the hotel to ask them about connections from the hotel to LAX after the conference. I have not heard anything back, but since the hotel email is for their central site rather than the actual hotel, I am not convinced that I will get a reply. I have done some research and found that I can get a shuttle without too much pain. I am sure that I can get a better price than the price I saw, but it is definitely an option.

Coming back I am looking at getting in at 10:30PM on a monday night. I have caught this flight before and it is not bad. Then I can come home and have a good nights sleep. The only issue is that it really is a bit late to get the train home so I will need to get a lift. Not much of a problem really, but it is a pain.

I have done a bit of research today, and found a page that shows how to crop images in VB.NET. I will look at implementing this later – not today though… I have been updating the WWW site this afternoon so there are some changes there too.

Music:

Given the stories about Batton Rouge, I am finding myself singing ‘Me and Bobby McGee’, most recently sung by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Some of the lyrics are

Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin’ for a train
And I’s feelin’ near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
It rode us all the way into New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
I’s playin’ soft while Bobby sang the blues, yeah
Windshield wipers slappin’ time, I’s holdin’ Bobby’s hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew, yeah

Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’ don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free, no no
And feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know, feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
