I just got an offer for a lift from Anaheim to Santa Ana. This will save a 9.4 mile Taxi ride which is fantastic. It is with one of the locals who I have met before. I am really thankful that I will be able to get between hotels without too much fuss. Taking my Cellphone will me will also make things easier too. I will take my GPRS card with me, but at 2 cents per kByte it is not cheap to use.
Still, it will be good to have access to GPRS if I need it. Sort of cool really.
I also had an email from Richard last night… He and Michelle are safely in France… And loving it. He kept the email short since he was having trouble typing on the French keyboard. Having done that myself I know what he means. I have had similar issues in the past trying to do remote admin and things just do not work properly.
In the TV world the USA uses NTSC, or Never Twice Same Color (or National Television Sub Committee) describing the need for a ‘tint control’ on the TV. Australia uses PAL, or Perfect At Last (or Phase Alternate Line). The french, and this is the reason for this lesson into TV, use SECAM, which has some definition that is definitely french. But SECAM is Something Essentially Contrary the American Method. It describes the french right there!
