I got so little of the work done today that I had wanted to get done. I have some work for one of my clients who needs to connect some machinery of his to the GPRS network… and I want to get this complete by monday. Well, one of the jobs is using GPRS and the other is SMS.

The main issue for the SMS thing has been getting the RS-232 interface to work. I have run out of voltage regulators in my stock, and I needed some for the project. Actually come to think of it there is another power supply in the device I can use… That might help.

With the VOIP thing, I am thinking about getting a pre-configured unit – from a more popular brand other than Zyxel. The Linksys ones look nice, and seem to work with less problems. Not that the zyxel one will go to waste either… I can use it with the Asterisk linux PABX product…
