I have just got home from the Central Coast. The trip back was basically uneventful. I did see the witches hats lining the side of the F3 going south at Ourimbah. I passed them at about 7pm, and the reports noted that they were going to close the road at 8pm. When I got to the Mt White area with the RTA heavy vehicle checking station I could actually see the flames about 500m to the left of the road. Thankfully the wind was coming from the right. There was also a fire on the right side that I did not see.

At one stage I saw the heavy smoke coming across the road – although it was there for only about 1-2 seconds. Following that things were fine. The road was not packed at all. Actually it was fairly devoid of trucks and everyone seemed to be mostly on the left lanes in case anyone wanted to get past. The traffic seemed to flow really well, but there was more than the average number of cars broken down on the road.

All in all, I was mostly driving at the speed limit for the entire length of the trip. This is outstanding and amazing. After everything I am really happy to get home.
