I have just got home… Richard and I worked on the plane this afternoon, and got some work done on accessability… That is, one of the problems when working on the plane is that it is hard to get in and out of the fuselage if you want to do any work on it. So we worked on a system to rotate the plane when we need to. Richard picked up a couple of ‘Engine Mounts’ that allow you to hold the engine on one end and rotate it at the same time. However in this case we put the mount where the engine normally goes.

We used some wood to create a bracket to mount the plane on. This probably took an hour in total. There was another design we had seen using angle iron on the firewall, bit I think that this actually worked better. A couple of spacers were needed to get the edge clearance on the vertical pieces of wood.

We worked out that the plane can be held from the front of the plane. Tomorrow we will be working on the rear mount… We might even get a chance to actually sit in the plane…
