I got an email from my brother thanking me for the help installing his lights on Tuesday. The cool bit was disposing of the old light fittings. I will let you read his words… ‘I put the old light fittings out for the council clean-up. One of the pendants went in under 15 minutes, the other has its covers taken within an hour and the covers for the old oysters were gone by the next morning along with the light globes…‘. I guess council cleanups are the new way to recycle stuff.
Last night I watched a Junkyard Wars episode on Discovery. It was really cool – three part 800 mile race from Los Angeles to Las Vegas via various junk yards. There were three tasks to complete – one involved boating across the colorardo river. Another was across sand dunes, and the last was a rally course. Entertaining TV.
Of work continues like it has for the last few days I think I will need to start employing someone to assist me. Things are becoming that busy here. Not that I am complaining – I am always after more work – but I might need to think about bringing in someone to help me on projects.
As a way to indicate that the world is in fact changing, Nikon UK have released a statment that all but stops production of 35mm and larger film cameras and enlargers in favour of digital systems. I am surprised that this is happening so soon as I thought that extra high resolution users would still be using film for the next few years.
