I did get my new phone… I must start with the standard complaint of the battery not being charged – although there is probably a very good reason for this. Some other things are not as good as with my Nokia, although some are probably better… I still need to get used to it. The phone in question is a Motorola V3 RAZR, which looks OK, and from all accounts works well.

My first complaint is that I needed to copy all my contacts from the SIM to the phone to use voice dialing. Fine. But now I have two copies of every number in my address book. Not sure how to fix that. The battery indicator does not work all that well… After about three hours charging, and two of the three bars of the battery are on, and I still had phone calls die when I was at the shops at lunch time… Not good.

I have not worked out how to send files to the phone either – new programs that is… There are a few things that I would like to install, such as a version of MSN…. Could be quite useful…

There are various news stories reporting that some of the asian carriers are looking at Real Cattle Class… A class of service that makes Jetstar look like Qantas First Class. The reports are that some of the carriers in the region actually want to get rid of seats and install back boards with straps.
