Finally home… Interesting day out doing consulting work – and fun. Whilst I was out my email was not working properly – I kept getting messages saying it was unable to send email, and generally things were not working properly. Looking at my Linux mail server I found that it was going 100%, although nothing I could find was actually taking up much CPU time. Very strange. In the end after trying to fix this I just rebooted the machine, and things were good again. I think it was trying to do a monthly task and somehow got caught up on the processing somehow. I guess I just need to monitor things.

I have found a site called FlightStats which gives flight statistics for airports around the world, and suggests which flights are more likely to be on time, and which are not. Very interesting looking at what is available in statistics – including the waiting time to get through security. Fun.

And with the nulear debate in Oz, PhysicsWeb has some interesting reseach on what to do with the waste. The concept is to encase the waste in metal, and then cool it. What happens is that the waste becomes more radioactve. Strangely this is a GOOD thing – it means that the radiation will decay mroe quickly, and once it warms back up will be much less radioactive!
