Something that I didn’t realize was that Legionnaires Disease was not named after the french foreign legion as I thought. It was named after a group of american Legionnaires, which is similar to the RSL in Australia. A number of people got sick after their conference, and it was thanks to the investigation that the disease was tracked down as coming from air conditioning plants, and from some poorly maintained hot water systems. It was the CDC that eventually solved this puzzle saving countless lives…
