Small break needed… I am making up some cable assemblies for some trackers, so I need to cut a heap of cables to length, strip one end, solder the end, trim to length, solder to a terminal, insert into a piece of plastic. Repeat a hundred and fifty times. You get the idea. Thankfully I suspect that I only have another hour or so to finish this, so it is not the worst job in the world. But there are certainly better jobs.
I also got some strange paperwork today – I sell some hardware to the department of defense. Now, everyone jokes about the DOD doing everything in triplicate… The stupid thing was that I got a payment advice from them – and it was in duplicate. One copy would have been enough, but that is not good enough for the DOD. Still, at least they did not send me three copies so I guess they are cutting down.
Another piece of useless paper I got was a letter from the Tax Department telling me that the percentage of income that I must pay each quarter has changed. And it has changed from 0% to 0%. And to make it even more pointless since I do the accounts quarterly so I make an exact payment of GST rather than an estimate based on gross income. The ATO is just strange at times š
