Today I have mostly been working on my TeamTrack application. In this case however I have been working on the administration console. The admin program is taking more work than I thought it would, and it really does not have the same pay off as the client end. After all, all the cute features in the software will only be seen by a handful of people. Depending on how the product is sold, maybe only one person per company will have access, and that person may be doing the admin for many companies.
Still, from my point of view the Admin program is really important. It is where many of the gains come from with implementing the system. Through careful design, I have managed to reduce the implementation time from weeks to minutes. Yes, that does have an impact in consultancy rates, but it does give a heap of flexibility to the customers.
In other IT news, it seems that Paul Allen who co-started Microsoft has himself a new yacht. This one is about 120m long and comes with a hospital and helicopter. Wow. If only I had that sort of money.
