I am constantly amazed by the fact that I never have any ideas of holidays in the rest of the world. Case in point. I am flying into Los Angeles on Monday Morning their time. I think this is tuesday Sydney time. Ignoring for the moment what time difference it is between here and there, I will be getting in on Monday morning their time. <\/p>\n
But monday is a public holiday in the USA. Well I think it is. And I had completely forgotten about this when I arranged everything. More correctly I had not even thought about the issue. Like why would I. It is not a holiday here in Oz, so why would be it be anywhere else in the world. <\/p>\n
Stupid thing is that I was caught by the same thing a couple of years back at exactly the same time of year. Although that time things were a bit different since I was going to Disney Land, and the only difference is that there are more people there for a public holiday. But not this time. My plans for monday were to
\n
* Take a train to West Hollywood, and walk to Fry’s at Burbank Railway Station.
\n
* Walk back to West Hollywood, and catch a train to Hollywood and Highland, maybe stopping off at some shops at Universal Studio on the way
\n
* At Hollywood and Highland I would visit Build-A-Bear for some clothes. We have a demanding girl here who wants some shopping done. I believe that she has chosen the clothes she thinks she will look best in.

* Visit the Jim Henson museum
\n
* Visit my favourite News Stand in the whole wide world – and I cannot remember the street it is on
\n
* Visit the best record store in the world, located on Sunset Blvd.
\n
* Visit my friends in the CNN building
\n
* Get a lift home after meeting them for dinner. <\/p>\n
