{"id":2238,"date":"2005-08-30T14:13:00","date_gmt":"2005-08-30T04:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.radio-active.net.au\/web3\/2238\/"},"modified":"2014-10-10T12:32:55","modified_gmt":"2014-10-10T01:32:55","slug":"2238","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.radio-active.net.au\/web3\/2238","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On BoingBoing there was a comment about the teleporting things&#8230; I love the following quote&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<i>Michio Kaku, a noted physicist and author at City University of New York, said &#8220;the only way to use (teleportation) as a secret weapon is to allow our enemies to bankrupt themselves thinking they can produce a teleportation machine.<\/i>&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Sometimes that is the way &#8211; where the best way to nobble a competitor is to suggest a certain path for technology that seems reasonable at the time, but you know is going to be a huge big sink for money and resources. I cannot give any examples of this for obvious reasons&#8230; But I suspect that this stratergy is oh so too common in business. <\/p>\n<p>I have just seen a story on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/story\/0,10117,16432801-2,00.html\">News.Com.Au<\/a> about how Australian radio company CODAN may have been selling HF radios to Al Qaeda &#8211; and may have sold $35,000 in radios to them through an intermediary.
