OK… So what have I been up to this morning? Well, at 9:30 AM I decided to do some work in the yard. There is this big Gum tree that is not getting enough water so I decided to get the hole digger out… So that I could then put a pipe in the hole with a cover and pour water down the hole whenever I am outside. That was the idea.<\/p>\n

The first hole I dug was a pain… I soon hit something… Then gave up and started digging hole number two. When I was about done with it, I got the crowbar out and started attacking hole number 1. That was my big mistake. About 20cm below the surface was a water pipe. Oops. The damage was not too bad, but it was enough to cause some repair work on the pipe. Fine. <\/p>\n

Phase 1: I had a couple of joiners, and some pipe. Unfortunately the joiners were designed not to slide. ARGH. So I drilled them out. This did not work too well. Then I needed to get some gas for the blowtorch. Then I put the new pipe in. Only about 6 inches. And tested it. And both new joins leaked.<\/p>\n

Phase 2: Try again. Buy slide on joiners. That is better… This time I spend a lot of time cleaning the pipes… And cleaning them more. And I use real slide on joiners. And some more copper pipe… And lots of solder. And some acid. And some flux. And this time it actually worked. I am not surprised with all that. It would not dare fail. <\/p>\n

So what was going to be a 20 minute job turned into a three hour job including two excursions to get stuff. And I only have one of the three to four holes dug. So, how has your day been \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
