The\u00a0Jukebox includes over 20 GBytes of storage as well as an IR Remote\u00a0Control, Four Line LCD display and Internet access.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/juke\/jukepc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"345\" height=\"191\" \/><br \/>\nTwo versions of the MP3 playse software are available :-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A version running on the LCD with an IR Remote Control<\/li>\n<li>A version running through a WWW browser offering an upgraded \u00a0User Interface.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>LCD and IR Remote based Jukebox<\/p>\n<p>The code for my original jukebox can be found <a href=\"\/web\/consult\/juke\/jukebox.txt\">here<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">. It is written in PERL, \u00a0<\/span>and is not a great example of my programming. I fully admit that\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">the code is \u00a0<\/span>a complete hack &#8211; it evolved to what it is now. The software relies\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">on the\u00a0<\/span>LCDproc package for display, rxaudio for playback, and LIRC for\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">the remote control.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>WWW Browser Access<\/p>\n<p>The WWW based version of the Jukebox is based on the goMP package\u00a0from the\u00a0Gautier Taravella mpnet@altern.org.\u00a0 When we examined this\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">software, we found \u00a0<\/span>that although it provided a basic user interface, it did not supply\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">the required\u00a0<\/span>functionality. Features such as advanced play list management were\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">missing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The software was also integrated with the XAUDIO toolkit, leading<br \/>\nto us \u00a0improving the playlist capability of the software<\/p>\n<p>You may be able to access a demo copy of the software on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.radio-active.net.au\/gomp\/gomp.html\">http:\/\/www.radio-active.net.au\/gomp\/gomp.html.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This copy WILL NOT play, \u00a0but you can get an idea of the playlist support for instance.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: This software prefers NETSCAPE since it actually implements\u00a0NPH\u00a0far better than MicroSoft.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/juke\/select.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"917\" height=\"448\" \/><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/juke\/playlist.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"885\" height=\"252\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Radioactive Networks has now completed a significant amount of work on\u00a0its MP3 Jukebox running the &#8216;Open Source&#8217; LINUX Operating System.
