{"id":128,"date":"2014-10-10T07:11:46","date_gmt":"2014-10-09T20:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.radio-active.net.au\/web3\/?page_id=128"},"modified":"2014-10-10T07:11:59","modified_gmt":"2014-10-09T20:11:59","slug":"weather-for-ironman-hawaii-2002","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.radio-active.net.au\/web3\/consult\/projects\/ironman2002\/wx","title":{"rendered":"Weather for IronMan Hawaii 2002"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/ironman2002\/wx1.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" \/><b>Radioactive Networks<\/b> worked on the 2002 Ironman World Championships in<br \/>\nKona, Hawaii in October 2002 with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lateral-linking.com.a\">Lateral Linking Broadcast<\/a>.<br \/>\nDays before the event we were asked by the<br \/>\norganisers to investigate the feasibility of installing some remote wireless<br \/>\nweather stations for the event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/ironman2002\/wx2.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following some speedy research, Radioactive Networks were able to implement<br \/>\na wireless weather broadcast system, sending out the weather conditions<br \/>\nin digital form every 30 seconds throughout the island.<\/p>\n<p>The weather station was installed on top of the King Kam hotel just near the<br \/>\nstart and finish line for the race, about 7 stories above the ground level.<br \/>\nWhilst the weather station was installed, we measured winds in excess of 32<br \/>\nmiles\/hour, and temperates in excess of 30 Celsius (in the shade). Reports<br \/>\nstate that these conditions were milder than the competitors actually<br \/>\nencountered during the race.<\/p>\n<p>Even mounting the weather station required planning due to the conditions,<br \/>\nwith high humidity, high temperatures and rain.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/web\/consult\/projects\/ironman2002\/wx3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Radioactive Networks worked on the 2002 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in October 2002 with Lateral Linking Broadcast.
