I have been playing satellites once again this moring. This is always fun. I have just delievered a program to send some data to a satellite and return the data to a device here on earth. My client just needs to test it for me – I don’t have a connection to their satellite base station from here unfortunately.

I also spent about 30 minutes on SKYPE with VoIP to a business partner somewhere in Victoria. The thing is that he was in a hotel room, and was using CDMA 1x. The performance was generally quite good. I was plesantly surprised. Isn’t it good how technology just works, sometimes. It was certainly cheaper than a phone call…

From Comp.Risks, comes news of a news story on CNN about how US Air sold 1,000 tickets for $1.86 round trip. The airline has promised to honor the tickets.

The airline also was hit by what its chief executive termed a “meltdown” of
its baggage system during the Christmas holiday. That problem resulted in it sending some flights out of its Philadelphia hub without any bags.

Also, on stupidsecurity.com is a story which refers to WRAL News…
