During my run today I did some more thinking about the movie 'V for Vendetta'... The more I think about it, the more I feel that this movie (or the comic that it is based on) is a possibility to replace 1984 in secondary schools for study. The movie is really a cerebral movie requiring thought. There are certain paralells between V and 1984, and certain differences. Whereas 1984 is is a pessimistic view of the world, V is more optimistic - apart from the fact that the 'V' world got there to begin with.

I really need to re-read 1984... It is a classic book, but I have not read it since Highschool. And thanks to the Australian Copyright law, it is out of copyright in this part of the world so I have the option of downloading it legally rather than buying it or downloading it. You can get your own copy here...
